How Cherlume uses AI
Cherlume uses artificial intelligence to generate or edit images from user-provided photos across Worlds and Experiences — including Future Baby, Couple Portrait, Pet Mix, Pet Portrait, memory restoration, colorization, and share-ready exports.
Generation runs on our servers. The AI processing happens through trusted third-party AI providers; we do not perform generation only on your device.
What is sent to AI systems
- The photos you upload for the selected Experience (which may include faces of people or images of pets).
- The Experience type and the prompts, options, or parameters you choose.
- These inputs are sent to AI providers solely to produce or evaluate your result. See our Privacy Policy for details on providers and data handling.
Nature of AI results
- Results are AI-generated and may be inaccurate, unexpected, stylized, or imperfect.
- Lighting, pose, image quality, and model behavior can affect outcomes.
- Cherlume does not guarantee resemblance, accuracy, or a specific artistic style every time.
Future Baby
Future Baby images are artistic AI visualizations only. They are not genetic, medical, biological, or factual predictions of what a child will look like.
Future Baby is not scientific analysis, fertility guidance, or parentage verification. Do not use these images for medical or legal decisions.
Other Experiences
Pet Mix, Couple Portraits, Pet Portraits, and Memories & Legacy Experiences produce creative outputs — not factual records, breed certifications, or historical proof.
Pet Mix and Pet Portrait personality traits (such as energy level, affection style, and temperament) are playful, AI-generated entertainment — not veterinary, genetic, or behavioral assessments.
Restoration and colorization are designed to improve older photos artistically; they may not recover every detail faithfully.
Photos, people, and consent
- Upload only photos you own or have permission to use.
- Obtain consent from any identifiable person shown in your uploads before processing their image.
- Only upload photos of children with the consent of a parent or guardian, and only where lawful.
- Do not upload photos of third parties to create deceptive, harassing, or harmful content about them.
- Do not upload sensitive, illegal, or non-consensual imagery.
Prohibited content
You must not use Cherlume to create or attempt to create:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors.
- Explicit sexual content or non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Extreme violence, gore, or content that promotes harm.
- Harmful deepfakes, impersonation, fraud, or content meant to deceive or damage reputations.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, or the exploitation of any person.
- Content that infringes others’ intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
Sensitive content
Cherlume is built for warm, personal keepsakes. Even where content is not strictly illegal, we may decline to generate or may remove results involving sensitive contexts, and we may apply stricter limits to imagery of faces and minors.
Responsible use of results
- Do not use AI results to mislead, impersonate, harass, or harm others.
- Do not present Future Baby or other outputs as real photographs of future or past events when they are AI-generated.
- Follow applicable law and platform rules when sharing results.
Transparency and labeling
Cherlume is designed to label AI-generated results clearly so you can save and share them honestly.
Safety and moderation
We run automated checks on uploads and generations (for example, file and image validation and safety/NSFW detection) and may add manual review. We may refuse generation requests, block results, or stop processing that appears to violate our terms, this policy, safety rules, or applicable law.
Some content may fail generation or require additional review. We may also block specific generations or suspend accounts for safety or compliance reasons.
Reporting AI-generated content
If a result seems inappropriate, unsafe, or violates these policies, you can report it directly from the result screen in the app. Today, reporting opens our in-app Help Center flow or a pre-filled support email so our team can review the result and take action.
We review reports and may remove content, block generations, or take account action where appropriate.
Service providers
Images, prompts, and parameters may be processed by trusted third-party AI and infrastructure providers (which may include Google, OpenAI, Replicate, fal, OpenRouter, and the Vercel AI Gateway) to generate or evaluate results. Some providers operate in the United States. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled and transferred.
